Have a lovely and safe Christmas all. See you some time in the new year!
I spotted a magical cake recently and for fun, really wanted to recreate my own; I then became sucked into a vortex of cuteness on Etsy and before I knew it, I’d purchased a few woodland animal figurines for Christmas decorations. You’ll probably be seeing them perched randomly on top of cakes and things down[read more…]
I have this thing about swing and Louis Armstrong does it like no other. Have a lovely break all, stay safe and happy. Christmas card images: via via via via via via
I love me some Lush so here are a few of my favourite things in the store currently; Some pretty Christmas presents for a special person maybe?
Well it’s just not Christmas without some sort of trifle so this year, I made a lemon flavoured trifle with my favourite berry, raspberries. You don’t have to make this only at Christmas either, it’s an easy yet pretty summertime dessert which you can make ahead and also, anything with layers of different things looks like you went to[read more…]
Oh and love to my very kind followers, commenters and readers.
I’ve discovered tamari recently, a type of soy sauce, which is said to be quite nutritious. It’s slightly darker and thicker than the sauce you might use in your fried rice or whatever and it tastes much more flavourful and rich. I plan on using it instead of my usual soy sauce although, because they are[read more…]
We in Australia can become a bit gloomy about our hot Christmases. Don’t get me wrong, Christmas is lovely and all that but we miss out on all that cosy, frosty stuff. And if I see one more ad with Santa surfing or wearing board shorts .. So I thought I’d pretend we’re having a snowy Christmas[read more…]
Our tree’s up (a bit embarrassing actually as I’ve had it up for quite a while, I suddenly woke up one day and felt very Christmassy) and anyway, have been excitedly snapping away, so much fun taking photos of glittery things. I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year! Happy Friday all.
Jelly beans aren’t usually an addition to baked goods however I bought some Christmas jelly beans (red, green and white obv) and thought they’d look pretty studded into some white chocolate blondies for the season. You could, of course, add whichever candy you prefer if jelly beans aren’t your thing (they’re my lollies of choice usually ) but[read more…]
I’ve put together a list of Christmas gift ideas from Biome, a local eco store who advertise on my site sidebar. It’s wonderful to give and receive gifts however knowing your gifts are environmentally friendly and healthy is even better. This isn’t a sponsored post or anything like that; I genuinely love this store and wanted to share[read more…]
Phew, is so hot today! I need to find some waves to frolic around in. Oh and happy Christmas. See you soon lovely readers. (via) (via me) (via) (via) (via) (via me) (via)
Ok. Just imagine Christmas is over and you need a little relief from the indulgent, fattening days of eating and drinking like it’s the end of the world or something. Today’s recipe is an easy, healthy little brunch which has all deliciousness of what you’d expect from a lazy Sunday morning meal, but guilt free[read more…]
Well the Christmas season is well and truly upon us. I hope you’re all enjoying the sparkly, glittery fun of everything and not getting too stressed. Have a happy weekend!
Earlier this week, I posted the first of 3 reviews for Tassal salmon. Today’s recipe uses Tassal’s lovely, rich, thinly sliced smoked salmon inspired by a breakfast trend I spotted recently, the F.A.T. (aka feta, avocado and tomato), the latest breakfast offering in cafes, which is so cool right now, it’s ridiculous. I kid. It’s a really delicious breakfast and[read more…]
Hi darling readers As much as I love cooking and posting nice things to brighten mine (and hopefully) others’ days … we all know this time of year is a really terrible time for a lot of people. It’s not just having no nice food to eat or pressies to give your little ones but people also living[read more…]
Recently I was contacted by Natalie from Keep Left on behalf of Tassal, who very kindly asked if I would review some of their beautiful Tasmanian salmon products. Naturally I was super pleased to do this, as I love salmon and Tassal is a brand I buy regularly. Atlantic salmon is an extremely healthy variety of fish (all[read more…]
I was thrilled to be contacted by Kat from Keep Left PR to do a review for Bakers Delight, one of my favourite bakeries. Anyone who knows me is aware of my obsession for bakeries, and I usually find it difficult to walk past a Bakers Delight without stopping and staring like a little kid[read more…]

I love unusual, sort of quirky/cute Christmas decorations. I’ve spotted some sweet little creatures and things around lately which are very tempting to buy … (Floating cherub bird via Anthropologie) (Vintage wreath via a Sprinkle of Seasoning @ Etsy) (Nature nursery owl via Anthropologie) (Heaven and hearth snow globe via Anthropologie) (Nest eggs via Fairyfolk @[read more…]
Champagne cocktails are so 60s and glamorous and I love them so I made some girly drinks for Christmas which were pretty and tasted lovely. A bit too much actually, they’re really quite intoxicating so you’ve been warned. Champagne is kind of naughty like that – all bubbly and innocent then bam! I thought I’d go sparkly pink[read more…]
These creamy, fudgy truffles were so sweetly delicious. I originally made them for my in-laws but have eaten a few so will probably have to make more … oops. They’re perfect for gifts for your loved ones with a sweet tooth and are very simple to make. There isn’t really an intense pineapple flavour but[read more…]
I decorated our tree this week. We used to have a smallish, pretty but wobbly tree though this year I talked my other half into buying a 6 foot proper Christmas tree. I love that it’s so much taller than me.
Yep it’s that time of the year again. Here are some sweet ideas I’ve spotted for your loved ones (click on the images to go to the website for further info). As always, do your research, be careful and secure when buying online and happy shopping!
This isn’t really a recipe but since we seem to be hurtling towards Christmas at a rather scary rate (7 and a half weeks what?!), I thought I’d put together a little festive, girly sweetness to add to your holiday baking. It’s really just as much white, granulated sugar as you need in an airtight,[read more…]
